On the subject of the hermetic tradition, Kremmerz wrote in 1898:
« What can anyone gain from a theory that cannot be applied to daily life? What good is a doctrine devoid of results in the everyday world of human needs? »

The answer to this question was the establishment of the Brotherhood of Miriam, whose sole aim is to apply the principles of hermetic tradition for the benefit of those who suffer. With regard to the application of the principles of hermetic tradition to therapeutics, it is worth remembering that Hermetic Science teaches three concepts:

1. he infirmity of the physical body is always the result of imbalance in the psychic aura;
2. hermetic therapeutics does without medicaments, which it may however consider solely for their association with analogic faculties of the human psyche;
3. when the human spirit is ready for the life of the invisible world it is a crime to prevent its departure.

Kremmerz founded the Brotherhood on the love of our fellow beings, on the desire to alleviate their suffering, and on altruism.
It is as important to know that a brotherhood does indeed exist, with people who work and pray, and that anyone can turn to it to obtain help for their own illness. No laws governing the practice of medicine can prevent a sick person from turning to the Brotherhood to request prayers for their recovery, especially since the Brotherhood prescribes no medicines and, on the contrary, asks the sick person to follow the council and prescriptions of their own doctor.
It is also worth recalling that the Brotherhood requests no remuneration, but simply accepts the request for help and does what is required.
The Brotherhood is an active force, working for the benefit of those who ask, and it is based solely on love and solidarity.
The only thing that is asked of those who turn to it is that, at the appointed time, the applicant shall turn his or her thoughts to the Brotherhood and to its beneficial powers. Neither faith nor anything else is required. Incidentally, it is worth noting that the various manifestations of matter and energy have remained unknown for centuries and only now are we beginning to consider the possible effects of thought in the form of matter and energy.

All people, all men and women of goodwill, may take part in this programme of LOVE, GOOD and HEALTH, started up by Kremmerz more than a century ago and continued today by his Schola. They must only undertake:
to follow the practical teachings relevant to each level, as handed down by tradition or by those who have undertaken to pass them on;
to direct every manifestation that originates from their own development towards the SOLE PURPOSE of HERMETIC THERAPEUTICS.
